Ummm…. Yeah, I’m delving into Biden’s past because past behavior often determines future actions. That’s not a complicated a concept.

Bernie will have no influence on Biden legislatively. How do I know? Biden has said in two separate interviews that if — by a miracle, mind you — both houses passed Medicare For All legislation and it landed on his desk, he would not sign it. And these interviews were conducted after the COVID-19 pandemic started. So no, I have no faith in Biden doing anything remotely progressive. Again, follow the money. Two of his biggest campaign contributors are the private health insurance industry and big pharma.

Will Biden be better than Trump? Well, that’s a pretty low bar, but I actually know he won’t be. And all I have to do is look at his legislative record. Biden often brags, in fact, about how many bills as a senator he got passed with Republicans. He says that as though that’s a good thing. Yeah, maybe 30 years ago that was a good thing, but not today when the GOP is so far right that Reagan would be considered a leftist today. Joe, unfortunately, is living in the 90s politically.

As for Tara Reade, she initially was not a Bernie supporter. She supported Warren, but after Warren dropped out, she shifted her support to Bernie because, well, it was either support Bernie or support your rapist. I think her support of Bernie can definitely be understood in this context. Also, she came forward with the rape allegation against Biden more than a year ago. Please read article I posted already as well as watch the interview with Tara that spells out the timeline and why supposed women’s groups wouldn’t help her against the former vice president. Also, it is worth noting that Tara told family members and friends about the rape AT THE TIME IT HAPPENED, which is notable.

What I find disturbing, as a rape survivor myself, in all of this and why so many women don’t come forward — especially when powerful men are involved — is the willingness to dismiss the woman’s claims and attribute them to political motives. That’s why it often takes 10, 20, 30 years for women to finally muster the courage to talk about their experience.

Her story never changed. She said from day one Biden harassed her. But yes, she left the part out about him inserting his fingers inside her because as a young staffer to a powerful senator, she knew no one would believe her, and she was right.

As for Biden’s policies, I know them backward and forwards, and find them conservative at best. Biden also, unfortunately, has a problem with telling the truth and holding to his commitments. He has a long history of dishonesty; his credibility is shaky at best. He may promise to do something to help the working class, but his words are like the wind: fluctuating and ever-changing.
